WIN YOUR OWN GIN EXPRESSION

We're looking for the best Roots Dry Gin cocktails in New Zealand which represent 'YOUR ROOTS'. ⁣ ⁣

Finalists will be invited to compete at national final in Wellington in July from which the grand winner and friend will receive a three day distillery takeover in Marlborough in order to create and distil the SUYR 2024 exclusive expression of Roots Marlborough Dry Gin. ⁣⁣

HOW TO ENTER

Competition Details:

  1. Create your Roots Dry Gin cocktail recipe and share your story
  2. Submit your entry via the Entry Submission Form below by Monday, 27th May
  3. Keep an eye on the #RootsDryGin socials – 6 semi-finalists from each region (Top of North Island, bottom of North Island and South Island) will be announced on Friday, 7th June
  4. Each of the regions 6 semi-finalists will have their drink and Roots story judged in their own bar (or venue to choice) by an independent judge at a pre-arranged date and time.
  5. Two top scoring finalists will be selected from each region and flown to Wellington for the grand final to compete live for the title of 2024 SUYR Competition Winner and distillery takeover experience.

Entry Requirements:

  • Only one cocktail is required and must be your own bespoke recipe.
  • Cocktail recipe must also “Show Your Roots” in any creative representation of the phrase
  • The cocktail can incorporate any ingredients / style you wish but must involve either Roots Marlborough Dry Gin, Roots Norwester Navy Strength Gin or Roots Rosso Pinot Noir Gin as a majority spirit.
  • Final cocktail entries are to be submitted by web form below or email, no later than the dates mentioned above
  • Final cocktail entries must include a full recipe, methodology and story of how this cocktail “Shows Your Roots” as well as an accompanying image or video of the cocktail
